It was the love of Jesus and the love Paul had for Jesus that made things like marriage and a good career easy to give up. Paul’s words to the church in Corinth call to our attention the object of our affection.

Date: July 23, 2017 Text: 1 Corinthians 6:1-11 Speaker: Isaac Dagneau Should Christians file lawsuits against other Christians? Paul addresses this issue to the ancient church in Corinth in his first letter - a letter that encourages unity all throughout. However, 1 Corinthians 6:1-11 is not primarily about "lawsuits," but more about the character of the body of Christ. The church, ancient and present, ought to be team members who appropriately confront and take confrontation. Why? Because the church is washed, sanctified, and justified in Christ and by the Spirit of our God. We are not promoters of individualism or autonomy, but promoters of unity within the body of Christ.
Date: July 16, 2017 Text: 1 Cor. 6:9-11 Speaker: Clint Nelson The Bible tells us that no one is born straight, yet through faith in Christ, we can let go of our broken lives in exchange for His righteousness. To add to our brokenness, we have both the world and much of the church sending out the wrong message - that sex, marriage and family are the ultimate human experience, when they aren't. Oneness with God is the ultimate human experience. As we elevate certain human experiences, we elevate the horror of their perversion. Sexual sins become worse than gossip or materialism. Paul seeks for the church to be balanced - to see that the ultimate human experience is to be one with God; to see that all sins are equal yet uniquely damaging; and to see that [...]

God calls everyone to be a leader of some sort – what kind of leader are you? Regardless of our lot, we will each answer to God for what we did with the cross, not how others handled the cross.
