Truth and Reality – Because our understanding of reality profoundly affects how we live, we’re not interested in lies or half-truths. We are a community of truth-seekers. We long to know the truth about God, about ourselves, about our world, about life and where it is found. And our pursuit of this leads us again and again to the Bible and to Jesus, as God’s authoritative and trustworthy revelation of the Truth; continually submitting ourselves to the revelation of God, seeking to understand it in its original context and discover its implications for our context.
Authenticity and Acceptance – We’re committed to being honest about the reality of ourselves before God and others, and accepting one another as God accepts us.
Following Jesus – Life is not found in simply believing in Jesus; life is found through following Jesus as whole-hearted disciples – knowing, seeking and experiencing life with God, through Jesus Christ, by His Spirit. Which leads us to put a high value on:
Spiritual Formation – What we all need is more than to just be informed about God. We need to be transformed by God—to truly become like Jesus and experience a new life in Him. This is what we mean by ‘spiritual formation’, and it is at the heart of what we are all about—learning the way, the truth and the life from Christ with others.
Missional Life – Following Jesus ultimately leads us outward: to be priests to one another (serving and ministering to one another, by the power of the Spirit), to be missionaries where we are (representing the whole gospel of Jesus to our neighbors, community and world), and to seeking the restoration of all things in Christ – personally and corporately.
Redemptive Community – Jesus doesn’t just call us to himself. He calls us together—to be a redemptive community and to be redeemed in community. This is both the context and the goal of all that God wants to do in us.
